Almería has been named Spanish Capital of Gastronomy for 2019.
[...] is in recognition for the work undertaken to consolidate the blend of culinary tradition and innovation as a benchmark, while contributing to the promotion of the Almeria's image of excellence in Spain and abroad.
[...] The new Gastronomic Capital of Spain for 2019 will initiate its programme of activities on January 1, which is when the current capital of León ends its reign. This award, promoted by the Spanish Hotel and Catering Federation and the Spanish Federation of Journalists and Travel Writers, was previously given to the cities of Logroño, Burgos, Vitoria, Cáceres, Toledo and Huelva.
